i am inclined to start this thread in response to some comments made in other threads.
i have been coming around these forum for quite some time now so whatever you find in here is not just related to something someone may have said this week.
it can go months back as well.. i have seen many who claim to respect the belief of others but when it comes down to applying it into practice, things take a whole different tune.
Reading some threads on this forum, I have concluded that in my opinion the opposite of love isn't hate but knowledge.

A month ago I started a thread titled " You are a lazy brained, narcissistic whining ass attention seeking whore....." Unfortunately this thread was closed within only two hours. I assume the thread was closed because of my confrontational title. But why I started the thread was to show we can all get along . It should be noted that although the thread lived less than two hours it had 29 replys with everyone giving each other thumbs up, and having a laugh. This showed despite having been in confrontation we can all get along.
My point is if we want our point of view to be respected, let's not take ourselfs or our point of view so seriously.....

Yes indeed we find some fantastic "gems" on this site "Tenacious" but I think this thread is more about possible appeard rudeness in some posters comments. A rudeness we would not tolerate in our daily life, so why should we on a debating forum?
Personally I have no problem with any poster. if I did I would report them, if it was concluded I was being over sensitive then I would simply not engage them.

Personally I think critical thinking and empirical thinking are important in any science.Truth is objective not subjective. If God is true where is the supporting evidence? The bible in this regard may be the empirical evidence. In my opinion people do not turn to God for purely intellectural evidence, but empirical evidence.
Sometimes debating and preaching can get confused. Personally I have concluded no actual evidence has ever been provided to substantiate and validate Gods existence. But that does not mean God does not exist, and in my opinion it would be nice if posters could on occasion be a little kinder to each other.

I think the nature of this forum requires online anonymity which is both a curse and a blessing. I think however on this site for obvious reasons being allowed to remain annoynomous is the lesser evil. However often anonymity combined with an audience can bring out the worse in people.

Viviane: " who's been bullied?"
Good point. I would suggest the best way to answer that is for a poster who thinks they are being bullied to report it to the mods.
Why do I say this? Bottom line a forum has rules and forum members abide by those rules. To do anything less is to show disrespect to the majority of forum users. If a forum member is continuously breaking forum rules to gain satisfaction from provoking posters then upon a fair investigation by the mods I am sure appropriate action will be taken.
In fact we could report a person who we feel is deliberately provoking us, only to find out the rules are not being violated and the moderators do not share our viewpoint. Possibly due to conviction some posters can be over sensitive when challenged .To post is to assume our viewpoint will be challenged in debate. Therefore before entering a debate do you have the stuff to back up your opinion?

statTrekAngel, Thank you for that post.
A) I think that everyone has the right to share their opinion on a topic.
B) I think people should be tolerant and respectful of the poster and their opinion even if they don't necessarily agree with the content.
It should be noted that we have the opportunity to flag a moderator, when forum bullying or inappropriate comments are made. I am sure forum bullying is taken very seriously by the mods and any who continue in this behaviour, and do not adhere to forum guildlines about posting will be removed from the board.

when someone interacts with you they can influence your thoughts and also manipulate your thinking.
i became aware that this is what i was doing with householders on the ministry.
we chipped away at householders with manipulation, and called it a return call.
Have you also noticed how at the Kingdom Hall our minds were being conditioned to see the world and outsiders negatively ( Essentially that's the usual outline of a public talk) With the continued bombardment and repetition of this negative thinking we also begin to see the world and outsiders negatively, and thus the world outside the Kingdom Hall becomes a dangerous and fearful place for us.
Try this exercise each time you hear something negative at the Kingdom Hall, counteract the thought ( in your mind) with a positive viewpoint.

i know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?
Noted Viviane, thanks for the respectful replys. Have a great evening, I am off to football with my boy.
